"Knowledge cannot replace friendship. I'd rather be an idiot than lose you."

    For my first post, i am going to write about a cartoon series that needs no introduction. It is the famous Spongbob Squarepants! This cartoon must have been a childhood favourite for many people(including me) and it was a great series because of the humour and craziness involved.Not to mention, the crazily catchy theme song. The show reached enormous popularity by the 2000. Spongebob Squarepants has since won 6 Annies and an Emmy. The show basically is about SpongeBob, an energetic and enthusiastic sponge who lives in a pineapple under the sea with his pet snail, and his wacky adventures with his various sea friends.

   The show , believe it or not , is suitable for all ages. An example would me my own father, who is reaching  half a century old. He LOVES to watch Spongebob and would not fail to ask me to watch it with him all the time. The good thing about this show is that it isn't particularly too childish and not too mature too, making it understandable by everybody. I guess that is what makes this cartoon so popular : EVERYONE enjoys watching it!

  Spongebob Squarepants is mainly for entertainment purposes but there are also many valuable lessons that you can take away from watching the cartoon :

1. Never Give Up - Many of the episodes revolve around Mrs. Puff’s Boating School where SpongeBob attends in an attempt to get his boating license. Bless his little yellow heart, but he never passes the boating test. It doesn't get him down though, he just brushes himself off and tries again. It goes along with the old adage, “if at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.” That’s what SpongeBob does, he tries again, and again, and AGAIN…wearing a wide toothy grin with each attempt
2. Friendships Are Important - SpongeBob surrounds himself with his friends. His two closest friends are a pink starfish named Patrick and a Texan Squirrel named Sandy. The dynamic of his friendships really does emulate real life. They play together, have fun together, share secrets, they fight, have disagreements, and as all good friends do, they always make up. Good friends are irreplaceable!
3. Be Happy - Spongebob is ALWAYS happy. Be it working long hours at his workplace(The Krusty Krab) or being ignored by Squidward, he is always happy! This teaches us to remember that in life you have to be positive no matter how hard things get.

Cartoons have been a huge part of our childhood. When we were young, our only companions were our toys and cartoon characters. As children, we had nothing to do when we are young, we spend majority of our time watching cartoons and enjoying them. It is because of the enjoyment factor cartoons have always held a special place in our hearts. Sadly though, as we grow up we forget about these cartoons as we do not have time to watch them anymore or they do not broadcast the episodes anymore. Hence, this is why we have created this blog. We want people to still feel connected to the cartoons they love and bring back the pleasant memories they might have forgotten over the years.
